Why Ringling Park?

If you have driven through downtown Sarasota lately you probably have noticed the construction cranes, recently built condo towers, additional restaurants, new retail shops and the infrastructure improvements like the new traffic roundabouts. Downtown Sarasota real estate is hot. This is really not anything new. Homes and condos in and around downtown Sarasota has been in demand for a long time. One difference we have noticed recently is the increased demand for property around downtown from the locals. While people from other parts of the country have always been a strong source of demand, we are seeing more and more buyers from other parts of Sarasota as well as from places like Bradenton, Venice and Lakewood Ranch. As Sarasota grows so does the traffic. If you commute to downtown Sarasota for work then you know what I am talking about. As the traffic increases so does the desire to live closer to work.

Close to Downtown

Short of raising your budget or lowering your expectations, the only thing to do if downtown real estate exceeds your price range is to find something close to downtown.

West: If you go west you have Bird Key and Lido Key. Those are not less expensive options.

South: Here you find the coveted "west of trail" neighborhoods. This is one of the most sought after communities in Sarasota. Prices here aren't any cheaper than the downtown area.

North: Head north and you run into Gillespie Park and the Rosemary District. This area is undergoing tremendous change. It is considered the fastest growing area of the city. Just today, I enjoyed a nice meal at the new Thai restaurant Spice Shack. A few of the new places to live include Cityside Apartments, Valencia at Rosemary Place and Vanguard Lofts. The cats already out of the bag here as prices have already escalated.

East: Just east of downtown you will find Ringling Park and the surrounding neighborhoods. This is an up-and-coming neighborhood in Sarasota.
